Title
Overcoming Regulated Industry Data Challenges to Drive Value
Abstract
There has never been a more exciting time to be working with data. Every day we hear about amazing things being done that weren’t possible just a short time ago. But for every conversation about “look at what we could be doing with our data”, there are three more that sound like “…but these are the things we have to do first.” While part of the problem is a never ending backlog of legacy technical debt, economic challenges and rapidly changing market conditions are also to blame. Unfortunately, shifts in the regulatory environment and a trend toward increased government oversight and scrutiny are putting new pressures on IT and all roads invariably lead back to a need for better managed and governed data. The penalties associated with failing to meet regulatory compliance requirements should be enough for any organization to take notice. Billion dollar fines are not out of the ordinary, and many penalties now directly cite a lack of proper data management, governance, and controls as a primary contributing factor.
Join us for a lively panel where we will explore how to change your mindset to drive business value from compliance. You’ll learn pragmatic approaches to data management including dealing with legacy and systemic issues that are difficult to navigate. Our panelists will share how to tackle regulatory driven data initiatives with an eye toward how the information will add business value across the enterprise and live long after you meet the compliance requirements.
