Business Data Analysts are a vital bridge between our client stakeholders and our data engineers. They specialize in understanding how users interact with and exploit data to drive business outcomes. They have a particular knack for understanding and explaining the intersection of tacit business knowledge and the technical context of data. They are able to elicit requirements from stakeholders, synthesize user stories and devise test cases. They understand data models, data lifecycle and semantic layers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct interviews with stakeholders, elicit and understand user stories
- Utilize appropriate tools to perform data profiling over structured and unstructured sources
- Collect, map, and track business requirements and develop functional specifications
- Assist in the design and completeness of data models
- Define, collect, and analyze business and technical metadata
- Design test cases

Do you have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on data projects as a Business Analyst with a track record of execution
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with SQL and/or intermediate Python
- Experience with data analysis, Kimball dimensional modeling, and data warehousing concepts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate complex ideas simply
- Experience with data analytics in varying data environments (data lake, HDFS etc.)
- The desire to occasionally travel
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, data engineering or a closely related field (preferred)
